Summer's almost here - and new summer theme ideas and designs are percolating - along with some old favorites I temporarily discontinued through fall and winter.
By the time a season ends, I'm eager for the next one! And right now I'm so done with winter and cold - and my ideas and new listings reflect that.
If you're new to my shop, August Moon Emporium, welcome!
Here's a little backstory:
This really all started with rug hooking - and needing a sewing machine to bind the edges.
It seemed silly to buy a sewing machine just for one purpose - but I really didn't know how to sew. That's where YouTube sewing tutorials come in!
Everything I know about sewing - which is a lot, given how little I knew before - I owe to Debbie Shore, Dana of Made Every Day and others.
That led to making tote bags and beaded coin purses, which led to making jewelry. From there, I discovered decoupage - and then air dry clay, cutters, paint and texture mats!
When I discovered that selling items I decoupaged with napkins, etc was a copyright violation, the solution was to create my own designs - via AI.
I'm more a designer than a true artist. I know the look and style and colors I want - and AI gives me the ability to hone down versions until I get it. Even if it take 30 tries and tweaking!
Eventually, I found Etsy and Printify - and the rest is -as they say - history.
And I'm still learning - like this new blog!
So welcome to August Moon Emporium!
Come on in - take a look around. Feel free to ask questions, offer comments (even suggestions and critiques - I'm always open to improving!) and get
comfy!
Here you'll find t shirts, sweatshirts, mugs, tote bags, stickers, button pins and magnets - mostly for women, some things for children, a few things for men - or, more to the point - for women to buy for their men!
All in seasonal and holiday themes, funny sayings, whimsical themes like mermaids and fairies; nature-inspired themes such as cats, including the notoriously surly BadCat, ladybugs, flowers, trees, mountains, beaches, sunrises, sunsets, etc - in modern art, Art Nouveau, stained glass, Art Deco and lots of other styles.
An idea hits me - and I run with it! I hope it's not overload - I prefer "eclectic"!
I hope you like what you see and come back often to see
