With summer just a few weeks away, it occurred to me that adding a keepsake ornament to the summer-celebrating Côte d'Azur Collection was a natural.

And looking at it critically - I thought it would be much more appealing with something other than the gold hanging string it comes with.

Depending on your decor style - the Côte d'Azur ornament looks even better with a matching blue or white ribbon, or raffia or tiny-woven white rope hanger.

The ribbon works well for cozy, retro French Riviera style, the white rope is perfect for clean, modern nautical llines - and raffia looks great with country decor.

The strings on all of the other ornaments here at August Moon Emporium can also be swapped for something more interesting - more personal.

The Little Women ornament can echo Amy’s favorite blue hair ribbons. The Wuthering Heights ornament can be hung with a dark colored ribbon with a bit of faux heather tied into it. The Pride and Prejuduce ornament can be hung with a bit of delicate lace or pink velvet ribbon.

My favorite - the A Christmas Carol ornament - can be hung by a small but chunky necklace chain - like the chains rattled by the ghostly Jacob Marley!
